Christmas Gala

On Sunday 5th December, Air Cadets from 22 (Sandy) Squadron turned out to setup the Sandy Christmas Gala, and to help the squadron’s civilian committee raise funds.

Christmas GalaThe cadets braved the cold morning to help put all the stalls for the Gala, with the job being completed very quickly. They then set about putting up the squadron’s stall, where there would be face painting and a raffle with two large hampers up for grabs.

The civilian committee also set up a kitchen where they were selling hot chocolate, biscuit and cakes. The cadets did a brilliant job selling raffle tickets, and the hot chocolate was highly popular in combating the cold. The face painting was also highly popular, with even one of the squadron staff taking part for fun. At the end of the evening, the cadets cleared away the stalls for the town.

Cadet Ben Kilby (14) said “Although it’s been cold, it’s been a good day. The support from the town has been amazing, with many wanting raffle tickets”.

Many thanks to everyone who help support the squadron, either by buying raffle tickets and hot chocolate, and the civilian committee for organising all the fundraising ideas.
