Sandy cadets take on competition

Sandy cadets take on competitionOn Saturday 2nd April, Air Cadets from 22 (Sandy) Squadron attended the Bedfordshire & Cambridgeshire Wing first aid completion, as well as the Weston sector banner drill competition.

Both competitions were held at RAF Brampton with the Sandy cadets coming 4th in the junior first aid competition, and 3rd in the Weston sector banner drill.

The first aid competition consisted of a number of challenging scenarios to test the cadet’s first aid knowledge and skill, and to assess their capability to cope under stressful conditions, both as a team as well as individually.

The sector banner drill competition required the cadets to perform a sequence of drill movements with the squadron banner, as well an inspection of their uniforms.

Cadet Jakub Grobowski (13), “I was so glad to be selected for the banner drill team, and as we had a limited amount to time to practice 3rd place was really good”.

Adult Flight Sergeant Paul Redman commented, “They all did really well today. The first aid team did remarkably well considering how young a team they are".
