Overseas Camp for Sandy Air Cadet

Corporal William Phoenix from 22 (Sandy) Squadron recently spent a week on camp overseas at RAF Gibraltar, from the 2nd till the 9th April.

While on camp, William was able to see some of the various overseas units, such as the fire sections, dog unit, Army bomb disposal, as well as a visit to the Royal Navy Gibraltar section. Another visit was to see 2 Overseas (Gibraltar) Squadron, one of a number of Air Cadet Squadrons based overseas, and see what it’s like being an Air Cadet in Gibraltar.

While in Gibraltar there was plenty of time to look around the WW2 tunnels and great siege tunnels, visit O’Hara’s Battery, Selwo Safari Park, Magica Theme Park, as well as dolphin tours and a trip to Catalan beach.

Cadet Corporal William Phoenix commented on the camp, “The camp was great fun and an excellent experience. I would recommend it to anyone. I particularly enjoyed the section visits and meeting cadets at 2 Overseas (Gibraltar) Squadron to see what Air Cadets was like for them”.
