Air Cadets
perform duties for The Mayor's Civic Service

Air Cadets from 22 (Sandy) Squadron provided the Guard of Honour and took the Collection for the Town Mayor, Cllr Colin Osborne MBE, at the Mayor’s Civic Service which was held on 13th April at St Swithun’s Church Sandy.
The Service was conducted by the Rector of Sandy, Rev Derwyn Williams. The theme of the Service was “Thanksgiving for our Community” with the address being given by the Bishop of Bedford the Right Reverend Richard Inwood.
During the Service Cadet Kim Coates read a prayer on behalf of the youth
organisations in the Town. Cadets Jason Filby, Laura Jones, Alice Ward, Kim
Coates and CWO Jeffrey Henshaw took the collection.
Guests included the The High Sheriff of Bedfordshire, the Chairman of
Bedfordshire County Council, the Chairman of Mid Beds District Council, Town
Mayors and their consorts from the County.
Following the Service light refreshments were served in St Swithun’s Lower
School.
